The play is a dramatized and partially fictionalized story of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692 to 1693. Witchcraft, voodoo, morality and vengeance are rife in the Puritan town of Salem, leading to infamous Salem Witch Trials where those who demanded their innocence were executed, those who would not name names were imprisoned and tortured, and those who admitted their guilt were immediately freed.
