On Saturday 18th May, 26 members of ISS support staff and teachers underwent rigorous First Aid Training as part of their First Aid and CPR qualification. The training, undertaken by First Aid Training Bangkok under the watchful eye of Scott van Doren was an invaluable experience for our teachers and support staff.
Two courses were run consecutively, one course in Thai and one course in English. The courses covered all aspects of CPR and Emergency care, including resuscitation, severe bleeding, treatment of animal or insect bites (such as pets or snakes, centipedes); first aid for burns ; chocking and drowning situations. The course also covered useful information such as emergency contact numbers in Thailand and accredited ER rooms on Koh Samui.
Teachers and staff now feel more prepared to deal with any first aid situation which may arise. The CPR course syllabus delivered by First Aid Training Bangkok is approved by the American Heart Association ((AHA CPR Guidelines 2015).
