Songkran Celebration at ISS

What a Songkran Celebration we had at ISS in NEON colors!

Our school was filled with excitement and joy as we celebrated Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year. The day began with a beautiful and meaningful water blessing ceremony, followed by a giving to the monks, which set a peaceful and reflective tone for the festivities.

The celebration then moved into a fantastic Songkran cultural show, presented by our talented students, with Year 9’s hilarious Daniel leading the event. His energy and humor kept everyone entertained as we learned more about the rich traditions of this special occasion.

After the show, the fun continued with a series of lively games that allowed students to engage in the Songkran traditions in a playful way. Both primary and senior students had a blast splashing around in the swimming pool, soaking up the festive atmosphere.

A traditional Thai lunch was served, giving everyone a chance to savor delicious dishes. The afternoon wrapped up with a thrilling water party for the KS1 and KS2 students, followed by a fabulous fun foam party for the senior students with a DJ to keep the energy high.
