World Mental Health Day

Students in both the Senior and Primary schools are showing their support for World Mental Health Day by wearing yellow arm bands and taking part in a range of mental health related activities.

Each year the day is celebrated in over 150 countries around the globe and is aimed at bringing attention to mental illness and its major effects on peoples' lives worldwide. Every year the day has a distinct theme and this year the focus is on Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention.

In the Primary School one lesson of the day has been dedicated to feelings and kindness using the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today? Classes are decorating their buckets and filling them up with acts of kindness. Students will also write positive messages to add to a display board in the canteen

In the Senior School, PSHE lessons are being dedicated to mental health awareness and in reading time teachers will have a question around mental health to discuss with students.

During the day students will also add positive messages to the display board in the canteen.
